My interactions with friends and associates are pleasant because they are based on trust and mutual respect. Offensiveness and strife are absent from my relationships. My peers and I get along peacefully by sincerely caring for one another.

I enjoy positive interactions with my peers because I choose to see them the way they see themselves. I replace negative thoughts about my peers with compassion and focus on pleasant interactions.

I am free from the fear of being in social situations. I feel comfortable around other people. I need other people in my life the same as they need me; therefore, I seek to spend time around others.

My communication skills are improving as I learn that it is better to listen than to speak. I lend a listening ear to others, giving them the opportunity to express themselves. I refrain from judgment as I hear what they have to say.

I save my opinions and my comments until others are finished speaking because it is the proper thing to do. I resist the urge to interject or interrupt when others are speaking.

I exercise maturity by measuring my words carefully and bridling my tongue. Instead of making myself the focus of every conversation, I ask questions and get to know my peers.

People enjoy speaking to me because I express genuine interest in getting to know them. I deflect any attention I receive because I prefer getting to know others over simply talking incessantly about myself.

Today, I choose to focus on the positive within each individual I come in contact with. I remove myself from the spotlight long enough to get to know someone else.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. How can I improve the interactions I have with my peers?
2. Am I a good listener?
3. Which one of my peers do I most enjoy speaking with? What is it about them that draws me in?
