I take risks regularly because they keep my life fruitful and exciting.

I take risks regularly because they open the door to opportunities. Because I take calculated risks, I am accomplished in my work and excited about my life.

Donald Trump is a risk taker. When he first started his career as a real estate developer, he put his fear aside and gambled on his first few properties. And look at him now!

I look at the pros and cons of taking a risk and I increase my success by building a plan. I believe this is a rational and intelligent way of conducting myself both in business and my personal life.

Many people believe that being a risk taker is defined by jumping at every opportunity available. However, I define successful risk taking as calculated risk.

Everything in my life is an investment. And to some degree, a level of risk is always involved. My family is an emotional investment, as are my friendships. However, my home, career and other aspects of my life are both mental and financial investments.

I invest in my children by providing them with material things, emotional support, and education so they can lead fulfilling adulthoods.

I invest in my marriage by completely trusting my partner. I do this because I strive to achieve a lifelong healthy marriage.

Today, I understand that I must take risks in order to lead a fulfilling life. Essentially, my life and its components are all investments. And I give 110% to all of them, even if it includes some risk every now and then.

Self-Reflection Questions:

1. Does my self-esteem cause me to shy away from risk taking?
2. What was the last true risk I took?
3. What was the outcome?
