Due to my hard work and stamina, I can happily say that I have a fulfilling career. However, with such success naturally comes some job-related stress.
Nevertheless, I am prepared to handle my work-related stress because I am a strong person and do well with challenges. I believe my strength in this area truly benefits my career because I consistently display my ability to quickly gain control of sticky situations.
I have a concrete rule when feeling stressed at work. My rule is that I must leave work and all of its stresses in the workplace. Once I walk out of the office, I am completely renewed and am rid of anything that pertains to my job until I am back in the office physically.
This stress-management tactic allows me to attain an ideal work-life balance. In turn, this feeling of balance dramatically reduces my work-related stress.
When coworkers irritate me, getting riled up sometimes seems easy. Instead, I always try to be the voice of reason and I make an honest attempt to understand where my colleague is coming from, both mentally and emotionally.
Because of my understanding nature, I am one of the most popular employees at the office! This truly makes me feel like going to work is enjoyable!
Today, I take stress with a grain of salt. I know that if I approach stressful work-related situations with a calm mind, I can diffuse any negative reaction.
Self-Reflection Questions:
1. Is my non-work stress causing me to react negatively to normal situations in the workplace?
2. How do I approach challenges while I am at work?
3. Am I rivals with my coworkers because we are chasing the same promotion? How can I reduce this stress?
